To help the people of Pilot Point become mentally strong, physically fit, and more confident through quality martial arts instruction. We are a family-oriented academy and a place of positivity, where people of all walks of life come together and train to become better versions of themselves.
Why Our Pilot Point Academy Exists.
Davis Martial Arts & Fitness is a family-oriented martial arts academy in Pilot Point, TX. Led by head instructor and owner Cameron Davis, the academy has built its reputation on character, quality instruction, and a welcoming community where people of all walks of life come together to become better versions of themselves. Cameron is on the mat leading class himself.
As a certified Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu affiliate, our BJJ comes straight from one of the most respected lineages in the art. Cameron pairs that with a 4th-degree Krav Maga black belt, so students can train jiu-jitsu, striking, and real self-defense under one roof, taught with patience, with rigor, and with a clear sense of what each student needs to move forward.
What makes families stay is not the building. It is the consistency of instruction and the fact that every student is treated as an individual with a specific trajectory.
Built around how kids actually develop.
Every kids program keys in on the four stages of childhood development: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social. We call it PIES. It is how we structure classes, design drills, and build the relationships that turn a shy four-year-old into a confident kid who walks into school with a quiet sense of who they are.

Affiliations & Recognized Membership
Davis Martial Arts & Fitness is led by nationally certified instructors. We train in alignment with the standards of the organizations below.
Leadership Team
Every Instructor Holds the Same Standard.
Trained to teach the way Cameron Davis built the academy to teach. No shortcuts, no filler on the mat.
Four Words. Zero Exceptions.
- Discipline
- Discipline is the practice of doing what is required even when it is inconvenient, until it becomes identity.
- Respect
- Respect is shown before it is taught. Instructors model what they expect from students. It runs in both directions, on the mat and off.
- Effort
- Effort is the standard. Every student is expected to bring their full attention to every class, regardless of skill or time training.
- Growth
- Growth is the purpose of every class. Progress that is visible, trackable, and earned by the student through consistent work.
What We Are Not.
- Not a McDojo.
- Every belt requires a demonstration of actual technique in front of the head instructor. Students who are not ready do not test. The belt means something here, and students understand that from their first day on the mat.
- Not a Belt Mill.
- Our testing cycle is based on instructor assessment, not a calendar. A student might test in three months or in nine months depending on where they are and what the next rank genuinely requires.
- Not a Fight Gym Without a Standard.
- We do not run a competition team, and we are not a casual gym. Every student trains with intent. Contact training is introduced at the right time for each student and is always supervised.

Questions About Who We Are and How We Teach.
Who leads Davis Martial Arts & Fitness?
Davis Martial Arts & Fitness is led by head instructor and owner Cameron Davis. Cameron is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt under Master Carlos Machado, a 4th-degree Krav Maga black belt, and the Texas state representative for the Federation of Israeli Martial Arts. He is on the mat leading the academy's commitment to character, discipline, and quality instruction.
What disciplines do you teach and why?
We teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, and Muay Thai and Kickboxing. Our BJJ, taught through a certified Carlos Machado affiliation, develops confidence, discipline, focus, and a grappling art that does not depend on size or strength. Krav Maga adds practical, real-world self-defense, and Muay Thai and Kickboxing build stand-up striking and conditioning.
How are your instructors qualified?
Cameron Davis leads instructor development and reviews every student's progression personally. Our instruction is grounded in the Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu system and Cameron's Krav Maga background, and newer instructors learn alongside experienced ones before they lead their own class. The standard on our mat is the standard Cameron holds himself to every day.
How long has Davis Martial Arts & Fitness been in Pilot Point?
We are a family-oriented academy based at 8620 US-377, Suite 300-500, Pilot Point, TX 76258 in Pilot Point, and the majority of our students come from Pilot Point and the surrounding Denton County communities. Call or message us anytime to learn more about the academy and how to get started.
What is your approach to teaching kids?
Our approach to kids is grounded in character and consistency. BJJ teaches kids to stay calm under pressure and defend themselves without escalating, which builds real confidence instead of aggression. Kids are expected to listen, focus, and try. When they meet those expectations, they are recognized. When they fall short, they are coached, not shamed. The change parents notice at home comes from an environment where effort is what gets rewarded.
How do you handle different skill levels in one class?
Mixed skill levels are handled through tiered instruction. The technique is the same for everyone, but partners, complexity, and resistance are calibrated per student. Beginners are welcome in every class and instructors meet students at their current level.
What is your belt testing process?
Belt testing is instructor-nominated. When a student is ready, the instructor recommends them for advancement and the student demonstrates the required technique, attitude, and consistency at a formal testing session. Belts are earned, not handed out.
How is Davis Martial Arts & Fitness involved in the Pilot Point community?
Davis Martial Arts & Fitness is a family-oriented home for the people who train here. Our students and their families come from across Pilot Point, Aubrey, Cross Roads, Krugerville, Denton, and the surrounding area. Many of the moms, dads, and kids on our mat first found us through another family at a school, a sports field, or a neighborhood event. Building a place where the whole community feels welcome is part of why we exist, and it shapes how we run the academy every day.
