Before You Come In

What to Know for Your First Class.

First-time nerves are normal. This list covers everything so your first visit is easy from the moment you walk in.

RESERVE MY SPOT
  1. 01

    Arrive 10 minutes early

Early arrival lets us sign you in, show you around, and introduce you to the instructor before class starts. It makes the first class far easier to follow.

  2. 02

    Wear athletic clothing

Shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt are perfect for your first class. Loaner gear is provided, so there’s nothing to buy before your first visit.

  3. 03

    Bring a water bottle

Classes are active. Staying hydrated matters, especially in your first few sessions before your conditioning catches up.

  4. 04

Leave the gear shopping for later

No special equipment is needed to start. When you decide to enroll, we’ll give you a specific list and point you to the right place without overpaying.

  5. 05

Parents: the viewing area is ready for you

Dedicated seating is available so you can watch the full class. For a first visit, we want you to see exactly what your child experiences.

  6. 06

    No experience is needed

Every student starts somewhere. Instructors meet you at your level and coach you through it. Showing up is the only prerequisite.

  7. 07

Remove shoes at the mat edge

All training happens barefoot on the mat. Shoes come off at the edge before you step on. We’ll point out where when you arrive.

  8. 08

    Ask questions after class

The instructor checks in with new students afterward. That’s the right time to ask about the curriculum, pacing, and what comes next. No question is too basic.

Inside A Class

What a Typical Class Looks Like.

  1. 1

    Line Up and Bow In

Classes open with a quick line-up and bow. It’s a two-second routine that marks the shift from outside life to focused training, one more reason arriving early helps.

  2. 2

    Warm-Up

Every class starts with a structured warm-up: movement drills, mobility, and light cardio matched to the age group and program. For kids this often includes games; adult classes lean more technical.

  3. 3

    Technique Instruction

The instructor introduces the techniques for the day, demonstrates them in full, and breaks them down step by step. For new students this is the slowest, most detailed part, and questions are welcome.

  4. 4

    Drilling with a Partner

Students pair up and drill the technique with a partner to build muscle memory. New students are paired with experienced partners who guide them patiently while the instructor circulates.

  5. 5

    Controlled Application

When ready, students apply the technique live (light sparring, positional rolling, or situational drilling) at a level matched to experience and under close supervision.

  6. 6

    Cool-Down and Debrief

The last few minutes cool down and stretch. The instructor recaps what the class worked on and previews what’s next. This is where the lesson sticks.

  7. 7

    Bow Out

Classes close the way they opened. New students get a brief check-in from the instructor afterward, and parents of younger kids are welcome to talk with the coach at that point.

Before You Book

Common Questions About Classes.

How do I find out this week’s class times?

The fastest way is to call or text us at (940) 305-3965. We’ll tell you exactly which classes run for your age and program this week and get you booked for a free first class. You can also message us on Facebook or Instagram.

How many times a week should I train?

Two to three classes a week is the sweet spot for real progress in any of our programs. One class a week still keeps you moving forward, it just takes longer. We’ll help you build a rhythm that fits your schedule.

Can I watch a class before I sign up?

Yes, and we encourage it. Come by during open hours, tell the front desk you’d like to observe, and we’ll show you to the viewing area. No appointment needed and no pressure to join on the spot.

Do I need to register in advance?

To train, book your free first class so we can put you in the right class for your age and level. Once you’re a member, you can drop into any eligible class, space permitting.

What are your open hours?

We’re open Monday through Friday 6:30 AM - 8:00 PM, and Sat 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Sundays we’re closed. Class times sit inside those hours. Call (940) 305-3965 for the specific schedule.
