BJJ teaches kids to stay calm under pressure and to defend themselves without throwing a punch or escalating. The goal is a child who can handle a bully with control and walk away, not one looking for a fight.
Confidence built through earned achievement is different from the kind that gets handed out. Kids who train here earn their rank. That distinction shows in how they walk and how they handle hard things outside this dojo.

LEARN MOREBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the most effective anti-bullying tool we know. Kids learn to stay calm under pressure, set boundaries, and physically control a situation without throwing a punch. They learn to avoid, de-escalate, and defend with integrity.
A student who has trained for a few months walks differently, responds to pressure differently, and projects a kind of quiet confidence that most bullies are specifically looking to avoid. The physical skill is secondary to this.
No child trains outside their age group or skill level. Contact is controlled and introduced progressively.
Every class is run with young students in mind at Davis Martial Arts & Fitness. Contact is controlled, technique comes before pressure, and no child is pushed past what they are ready for.
Head instructor Cameron Davis holds a BJJ purple belt under Master Carlos Machado and a 4th-degree black belt in Krav Maga, and reviews every student's progression personally. The training your child gets here is the training you would want them to get.
Parents can observe any class from the viewing area at any time. No appointment required.
